At the age of only 3, Aldo was already exposed to the 'magical' world of acting. He remained permanent fascinated with the way "people could change attitudes in the same easy way they changed clothes," as he remembers.
One of Aldo's biggest fascination remained the way pretty 'theater' girls were attracted by comedians. Of course, developing a crush on one of them, Aldo decided rapidly what he would like to be when he grows up.
One of Aldo's greatest shocks was when his own mother tried to stab Mister diSorbo. Aldo diSorbo's mother was suffering from paranoia and some even suspected schizophrenia.
Aldo was a witness to the scene and for years to come, he tried to convince himself that the incident wasn't real and that his mother was 'just acting'.
"I wanted so much to be an actor" he says in his autobiographical book. "I really believed that it could solve all my problems. It was my way of escaping reality," Aldo continues.
Aldo began his acting career in his father's theater, playing small parts as the 'child' in the plays.
Although Mister diSorbo never could establish a name for himself, he was respected in the acting community and he had a lot of connections. Those persons were the one that supported Aldo's career.
At the age of 30, Aldo had a lot of experience in theater and by that time he played in his first movie. His first role was as the senator's brother, in the movie "Sink or Swim".
The moving picture that boosted Aldo's career was a tv series entitled "M 307". It was the first time someone dared to 'make fun' of the war that was going on at that time.
But the script was very well written and in an intelligent manner, so it had a huge success with the public. Aldo continued the production of the tv series long after the war was over.
"M 307" wasn't the only movie that brought him fame, but it was the most important of Aldo's career and shaped definitively what kind of movies he really wanted to make.
The Academy Award he won at the age of 40 was the first in a long series of awards that recognized Aldo diSorbo's talent and effort.
